The Al-Ameen Movement

The Al-Ameen Movement was born from a vision to rebuild the educational foundations of India's Muslim community after the historic migration post-Partition. Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan launched the Al-Ameen Educational Society in 1966 to empower generations through education, values, and opportunity.

After the Partition of India in 1947, a large portion of the educated Muslim middle class migrated to Pakistan and East Pakistan (now Bangladesh), leaving a significant vacuum in India. This led to a decline in educational leadership and opportunities within the community. Realizing the urgency of rebuilding this void, Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, a passionate young medical student, initiated the Al-Ameen Educational Society in Bangalore. Over the decades, the Society has established over 250 institutions across India, fostering academic excellence, professional development, and social upliftment. Its legacy includes producing thousands of professionals — doctors, engineers, educators, and civil servants — who contribute meaningfully to society. The movement is a testament to how education can heal and transform a community post-crisis.
