In 1966, a visionary educationist, Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan, lit a spark in Bengaluru that would grow into a nationwide movement — The Al-Ameen Movement. Driven by a mission to uplift the marginalized through education, healthcare, and socio-economic development, Al-Ameen became a symbol of empowerment and enlightenment for India’s minority and underprivileged communities. Honoured with the title “Baba-e-Taleem” (Father of Education), Dr. Khan dedicated more than five decades of his life to building a network of knowledge — now spanning over 200 institutions across the nation, from Kerala to Kashmir. These institutions include medical, engineering, pharmacy, law, management, and degree colleges, nurturing over two lakh students every year. In 2019, under the same noble vision, Al-Ameen Quest Academy was founded at Park Circus, Kolkata, as a dedicated residential NEET-UG Repeater Centre — offering focused guidance for aspiring doctors. Following the passing of Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed Khan in 2021, the institution was renamed Mumtaz Educational Institutions, as a tribute to his towering legacy. The academy moved to a larger campus at New Town–Rajarhat, evolving into a comprehensive residential learning hub. Today, Mumtaz Educational Institutions offers structured programs like NEET Tende (XI–XII) and Foundation (VIII–X) courses, continuing the mission of shaping dedicated, disciplined, and compassionate future doctors — carrying forward the light first kindled in 1966.
